Data Collection Services (DCS)

Data Collection Service (DCS) is a feature where One Automation collects data on its internal mechanisms and its IT environment. The data can be automatically sent to Automic. You can also access the data and use it.

By sharing data with Automic, you help Automic build knowledge from customer environments and work on enhancements on products and services. The data sharing mechanism is secure and auditable.

Internally, data can be exported from One Automation and sent to a third-party reporting application for example.

What kind of data is collected?

Examples of data shared with Automic:

• Automation Engine configuration and performance
• Workflows defined, execution statistics
• Performance and capacity information of machines running the Automation Engine

The data is organized in Data Streams.

This data is collected by enabling DCS feature in Analytics and by installing and starting the OS Collector.

Automatic, secure, auditable

The data collection and sharing mechanisms are embedded in One Automation. The system is automatic, secure and auditable.

Automatic	One Automation automatically and periodically sends the information to Automic (manual sharing possible)
Secure	Data considered as private (e.g. machine names, IP addresses, workflow names) are anonymized. Automic is not able to make any deduction on how you organize your IT environment or conduct your business. Note: For your internal use, you are able to export the data in clear form (not anonymized) so you can see the real values. The data is pushed to Automic data lab, in an encrypted communication channel.
Auditable	You can consult the data that is shipped to Automic.
