Installing an Event Engine Rule

As an Event Engine user, you must install an Event Engine Rule UI plug-in. The Rule UI plug-ins let you to create rules in the Event Engine.

Note: Ensure that the Package Manager plug-in and the Action Builder plug-in are installed before installing the Analytics Rule.

Installing a Rule

Notes:

• This installation describes a manual installation of a rule plug-in. An installation of AWI v12.1 or above is required.
• With the ONE Installer v12.1 and above, the Simple Rule UI Plug-in is automatically installed.

Important! Before you begin the installation process, see: Analytics - System Requirements and the Installing Analytics and the Event Engine workflow.

To install a Rule

Follow these steps:

1. Download the latest package from: https://marketplace.automic.com/
2. Log-in to AWI as an Administrator
3. Click the Administration perspective
4. Click Packs and select file to upload
5. Click Install. The progress bar will indicate when the zip file has uploaded.
6. Click Next to proceed with the installation
7. Check the install log to see if the installation was successful
8. You can also check if the installation was successful by clicking on the AWI About box located in the top right menu.

Note: After installing a rule package, log-out and then log-in again to have access to the new UI elements.

9. Finally, add a Rule Object by clicking on the Add Object button in the Process Assembly view.
