Dataset Sizing

For each instance of the CA 7 Data Provider for AAI there are two primary Report datasets used during execution for storing the CA7 report data before it is delivered to the AAI server. These two datasets must be defined with a space allocation that is sufficient to support the size of data generated by the CA7 system they are used for. All other execution datasets have minimal data content and the provided default space allocations should be sufficient.

Event Dataset

The SRVRRPTS dataset is used to temporarily store the SASSHIS8 output that provides the Event Data feed to the AAI Server before it is delivered to AAI.

The SRVRRPTS dataset allocated space should be based on the approximate size of the SASSHIS8-generated SASSHR70 Internal Activity Trace Report when run for the time span that is specified in the Configuration Settings for the instance. For more information about the time span value, seeCA 7 Data Provider for AAI Run Time Options.

Definition Dataset

The ADDDRPTS dataset is used to temporarily store all the various Database Definition reports that make up the set of Definition Data files required by the AAI Server before they are delivered to AAI.

The largest of these reports are the LJOB Report and the LDSN Report. Allocate space to this dataset based on the largest of these two reports. To determine which is the largest report, produce a sample report of each type ( LJOB,JOB=* and LDSN,DSNBR=DS*) via BTI and route the input to a dataset.
