Superordinate Tasks (Parents)

Objects can be activated in various ways with the originator of the activation being referred to as the superordinate task or parent.

Script elements are available that can be used to retrieve information about task parents. For details see Script Elements - Ordered by Function .

There are two types of object activation:

Description

Processor (PRC)

A processor is a superordinate tasks that is responsible for the proper execution of tasks.

  • Schedule
  • Workflow
  • Group*
Activator (ACT)

This type directly activates tasks but it is not responsible for monitoring their execution:

* To obtain information on a group, you must activate the Generate Job at Runtime on the Attributes Pages of Executable Objects in the task that uses this script function. If this option is not activated, you can only retrieve information about groups using the post processing option.
