Assigning the User to User Groups

Users can be assigned to one or more User Groups. User Groups are means to grant Users authorizations to objects and privileges in addition to those you give them via the Automation Engine sub pages.

To Assign a User to a User Group

  1. Select one or more groups on the Not member of list.
  2. Do one of the following.

    • Click the left arrow
    • Drag and drop them to the list to the left
  3. The group is inserted in the Member of list.

To Remove Users from a User Group

  1. Select one or more groups on the Member of list.
  2. Do one of the following.

    • Click the right arrow
    • Drag and drop them on the list to the right
  3. The group is inserted in the Not member of list.

The User will automatically have all rights and permissions that you define for any of the groups that the User belongs to. However, any rights and permissions that you define for the User in the other parts of the User definition apply only to the User, not to any of the groups.

Tip: You may need to work with many objects, lists and monitors simultaneously. To make your work easier, you can open them in different browser windows and arrange them side by side on your screen.
