Connection (CONN)

Connection objects contain the parameters that make the communication between Automic Automation and external systems possible. As an administrator, you create the Connection objects that developers and object designers use to configure executable objects.

The following types of Connection objects are available:

  • R3

These objects manage the connection between the Automation Engine and RA solutions, Jobs, and SAP Agents

  • SQL

These objects manage the connection between the Automation Engine and SQL Agents that allow VARA objects to retrieve values from an SQL database.

  • AI

These objects link AI Jobs to specific Large Language Models (LLMs) and Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers.

Object class: System object

Object type/Short form: CONN

Important! The Connection objects of Rapid Automation solutions and other Agent integrations differ from the standard ones provided with the Automation Engine. For Rapid Automation Agent and other Agent integration documentation, see https://docs.automic.com/documentation.
