UVMS - Telemetry

This section details the information needed to collect the telemetry data required by the PLA (Portfolio License Agreement).

Reminder: No license is required to operate Univiewer, Dollar Universe and its components as of version 6.10.01. Earlier versions can use the infinite licenses contained in the file goldkeys.txt located in the app /files directory of UVMS version 6.10.01 and following.

Enable PLA

PLA_ENABLED

 S

Sending telemetry data to CA Technologies:

  • Empty by default, telemetry has not yet been configured. A warning message is displayed when a user logs in.
  • Y: Yes, the historical file is generated and automatically sent to CA Technologies.
  • N: No, the historical file is generated but must be sent manually to CA Technologies if a PLA has been agreed.

In all cases, the telemetry files are build and actualized once a day.

If set to Y or N, the warning message is no more displayed when the user logs in.

Company domain for PLA

PLA_COMPANY_DOMAIN

 S Company domain name, for example: company.com

Enterprise site ID

PLA_ENTERPRISE_SITE_ID

 S

Numeric identifier given by CA Technologies. To find your ID:

  • Sign in to your support user account at support.ca.com.
  • Select My Account > Profile
  • Your site ID is located in the Support tab in the "Support Access Information" area > "Login Site ID"

Internal identifier

PLA_INTERNAL_IDENTIFIER

 S Free alphanumeric identifier of the UVMS instance

Instance identifier

PLA_INSTANCE_ID

 I Unique identifier, non modifiable, calculated by UVMS. Unchangeable.

Write key

PLA_WRITE_ID

 I PLA recipient ID. Unchangeable.

Proxy usage for PLA

PLA_PROXY_ACTIVATED

 S

Optional. Must be set if PLA_ENABLED=Y and if a proxy has to be used to send the file to CA Technologies.

  • N: No (by default), no proxy is used
  • Y: Yes, a proxy is used. In this case, the three node settings below are mandatory

URL for PLA's proxy

PLA_PROXY_URL

 S Proxy URL used to send the file to CA Technologies

Format: <http | https>://<IP address | hostname>:<port>

Proxy user for PLA

PLA_PROXY_USER

 S Proxy login user name

PLA encrypted password

PLA_PROXY_ENCRYPTED_PWD

 S Password of the proxy login user. The password is automatically encrypted by Univiewer Console. If the variable is set by the unisetvar command, the password must be encrypted by the UVMS command uniencryptpwd uniencryptpwd described in Univiewer Administration Guide.
