You can define your preference for the format in which you want dates and times in AAI to be presented to you on screens and output. In addition, you can also define your preferences for which time zones you want to see data and time data on screens and output. Being able to set time zone preferences is particularly helpful if you work with workloads that come from schedulers that are not in the same time zone as where you and your AAI instance are located.

For time zones, you can decide whether you want to see execution- and event-related dates and times in the time zone of the scheduler where the jobs run, or another time zone, such as the one you are in or the one that you need to report in. This topic explains the options, their ramifications, and how to set these preferences. It also covers the exceptions that override your settings.

The preferences that you define for yourself, persist when you log back in.

Setting the Date and Time Format and Time Zones

To set your preferences for how dates and times are presented, do the following:

  1. Open your user preferences:

    1. From any AAI web page, click your user icon in the top right corner the page. It is a circle with your user initial on it, to the right of the notification bell icon.

    2. Select User Preferences.

  2. On the Date and Time Zone tab, under Select Format, choose how you want dates, times and time zones to appear on your screens and reports:

    1. Select a Date and Time format.

    2. Select a Time Zone format

  3. In Scheduler-specific dates and times choose one of two options:

    • Use scheduler's time zone when applicable (default). If you select this option, the following applies:

      • All execution-related dates and times are presented in the originating scheduler's time zone.

      • Your preferred time zone will be used only in the following places: As Of Time (Monitoring panel), alert times, business area cycle filtering, and user login times.

    • Always use preferred time zone

Your preferred time zone is used everywhere.

Please note that your preference here is ignored when the time zone is explicitly specified for an object, such as for a data insight or an alert.

  4. Select a User-Preferred Time Zone. This is the time zone that will be used in the following situations:

    • When you selected the Always use preferred time zone option in the previous step.

    • When you selected the Use scheduler's time zone when applicable option in the previous step, and you are on a page or view that includes execution data from multiple scheduler instances that are in different time zones. In this case, the User-Preferred Time Zone overrides the scheduler time zones.

Please note that your User-Preferred Time Zone is ignored when the time zone is explicitly specified for an object, such as for a data insight or an alert.

  5. Click Save.
