Adding Tasks to Active Schedules

The Schedule Monitor provides detailed information on the progress of the Schedule and of the executions of its sub tasks. It is available as soon as a Schedule has started and allows you to modify some parameters in the Schedule object definition. It also allows you to add tasks to an active Schedule. This change applies to the current run only. If you want to permanently add a task to the Schedule, you must do it in the Process Assembly perspective, see Defining Schedule Objects.

Adding tasks to active Schedules can be necessary in multiple scenarios. For example:

To Add a Task to the Active Schedule in the Schedule Monitor

  1. In the Schedule Monitor, switch to edit mode by clicking the Modify button on the toolbar.
  2. Do one of the following:

    • An additional Add Task row is displayed at the bottom of the list. Select it and click on the folder icon in the Task Name column. This opens the Select Object dialog.

      Select one and click OK.

    • Click the Objects button on the toolbar to open a pane on the right hand side that displays all the objects you have access to in a tree structure.

      Select one, drag and drop it onto the list of tasks in the Schedule.

  3. The following settings can be specified for tasks added this way:

    • Active

      You can activate/deactivate tasks directly in this column.

    • Start Time

      Specify the time at which this task will be executed. The default value is the time that has been defined in the Period Turnaround Time field on the Schedule Attributes page.

    • Start Offset (Days)

      You use this field in combination with the period duration and turnaround time. This field specifies the number of days that should elapse between the beginning of a period and the activation of the selected task.

  4. If necessary, you can override the Runtime properties of the new task.

    1. Select the task and click the Properties button on the toolbar.
    2. A pane at the bottom half of the window is displayed that is divided in several tabs . You can make your changes here.
