Modifying Active Schedules

The Schedule Monitor provides detailed information on the progress of the Schedule and of the executions of its sub tasks. It is available as soon as a Schedule has started and allows you to modify some parameters in the Schedule object definition. The changes you make this way are permanent and will be applied from the next execution of the Schedule onwards.

Changes done to the Schedule and its tasks are recorded in the Reports.

This page includes the following:

Overview

The Modify Schedule button on the toolbar provides all the functions that are available for the Schedule. Some of them allow you to edit the settings of the Schedule object.

Not all parameters are editable. Periods and period turnarounds, for example, cannot be changed in active schedules. If you need to change them, you must restart the schedule.

To Modify the Definitions of the Schedule Object

  1. Expand the Modify Schedule button.
  2. Click Open Object or Open Object in New Window.

  3. Modify the Schedule definitions as required. For details see To Define a Schedule Object.

Validation Checks

When you modify and save the properties of the Schedule, the system performs validation checks in the background. If a task is active, it prompts you to confirm your changes.

Recalculating the Next Start Time

Schedules and tasks within Schedules can have Calendars assigned to them.

The definitions of Calendars or Calendar Events can change. Activate this option if you want the Schedule monitor to apply such changes automatically.

Reloading the Definition at Period Turnaround

If selected, changes done to the Schedule definition in the Process Assembly perspective are applied with the next period turnaround.

A tick next to this option indicates that this function is activated.

Note: You need the Write (W) and Modify at runtime (M) authorizations to perform this operation.
