Searching for Jobs (Web Interface)

job search, searching for jobs, global search, global job search, using job search, using global search

You can search for specific jobs from anywhere in AAI by using the search box in the blue title bar at the top of all AAI web pages. When you click into the search box and before you start typing, the jobs that you visited most recently are displayed. These jobs are listed by their job name; they display the scheduler name in which the job resides and, if applicable, the job's parentage in its jobstreams.

When you open job details by any means—either through a search, by clicking on a job name anywhere in AAI, or using the respective URL—the respective job moves to the top of the list of your recently visited jobs. By default, the system displays the last 20 jobs visited.

If the job you are searching for is already listed among the most recently visited, click it to open the job details. For more information, see Job Details (Web Interface).

If the job you are searching for is not among the last visited, start typing the relevant job name in the search box. As soon as you start typing, the list of jobs most recently visited is replaced with jobs, which job names start with the characters that you are typing.

You can also copy the job name from elsewhere and paste it on the search bar to search for that job.

Note:

The search is not case-sensitive.

job search results

The search results show the first ten jobs that meet the search criteria. These jobs are also listed by their job name and display the scheduler name in which the job appears as well as the job's parentage in the jobstream, if applicable. If the job you are searching for is listed among the first ten search results, click it to open the job details. For more information, see Job Details (Web Interface).

At the bottom of the search results, the View all matching <xxxx> jobs link displays the total number or search results. Click the link to open the search results page that lists of all jobs that match your search criteria. For more information, see Jobs List (Web Interface).

At the top left corner of the search results view (All Jobs list), you can see the filter parameters (Job Name: [xxx]) applied during the search. You can also add more filter attributes and narrow those by defining filter parameters for the attributes that you have selected. For more information, see Using Filters (Web Interface).

Click X next to the filter to clear the filter criteria and display the All Jobs list unfiltered.

If there are no jobs that match your search criteria, a No Results Found message is displayed prompting you to refine your search.
