Installation and Upgrade

As an administrator, you install and upgrade AAI and the corresponding mandatory and optional components either on a Windows or UNIX operating system.

This guide walks you through all the necessary steps for a successful installation and upgrade of your AAI system and the related components.

System Overview

The main AAI components are:

  • AAI database (mandatory)

  • AAI Platform Server (mandatory)

  • AAIReporting Server (optional)

Tip:

Installing the Reporting Server is not required for SLA management. However, installing it provides you with a host of out-of-the-box customizable reports that can query the richly populated AAI database and produce useful, curated insights into your scheduler and jobstream performance. It also allows you to create your own report templates to further mine the data.
