The AAI Data Insight Types

This topic provides an overview list of the data insight types that AAI provides.  A data insight type is the name of the purpose-built template that AAI provides. The data insight type is the most defining specification of a data insight, and it is the only specification in a data insight definition that you cannot change when editing.

Data Insights for Scheduler Performance

The Processing Load Data Insight, helps you balance the load on your resources to get the optimum performance from them.

You can see this data insight as two data insights in one:

• A scheduler load data insight

• A machine load data insight

They both contain the same sort of information, aggregated at a different granularity.

Data Insights for Overall Performance

The Business Area Monthly Performance Data Insight gives you a quick, visual overview of the monthly performance of business areas over the past year from which you can drill down to see the details for each month. Performance is measured by the percentage of jobstream runs that met their SLA deadlines within each month.

A widget of this data insight is provided on one of the default dashboard tabs to all users.

Data Insights for Jobstream Performance

The The Jobstream Runs Data Insight gives you a table of relevant statistics for all jobstream runs within a certain date range. Use this data insight to assess the jobstream performance within a targeted time span and find statistics that help you identify and triage jobstreams which are not meeting their SLAs. Typically, you use this for a short time frame close to the current time, making it an important monitoring supportive tool. The tabular form also makes it an ideal reporting tool.

Data Insights for Job Performance

The following data insights help you understand and manage and optimize job runs:

• The Job Status Data Insight

  Shows the run status of currently running jobs

• The Completion Status Data Insight

  Shows the final completion status of jobs that are no longer running, giving a historical perspective whether in the short or the long run.

• The Trending Jobs Data Insight

  Shows the increasing or decreasing job runtimes , as well as predicting future runtimes based on the observed trends

Data Insight for Audit Reporting

The The Audit History Data Insight gathers all events that are tracked in the AAI database for each active scheduler. These can be events related to job and jobstream executions, or job or jobstream definitions, or system events. Use this for audit reporting and triage.
