Using Filters (Web Interface)

This page includes the following:

Overview

AAI allows you to apply different filter attributes and narrow down those attributes by applying filter parameters specific to those attributes.

Once you apply a filter attributes, you can define further filter parameters for the relevant attribute. The parameters available in the dropdown menu are directly related to the attribute that you have selected.

Filter parameters for attributes populated with text refer to text searches:

  • Equals
  • Not equals
  • Contains
  • Does not contain
  • Starts with
  • Does not start with
  • Ends with
  • Does not end with

Filter parameters for attributes populated with a specific value refer to value searches:

  • Equals
  • Not equals
  • Greater than
  • Greater than or equal to
  • Less than
  • Less than or equal to

To define date ranges, you can choose between a relative (Most Recent) or an absolute (Select Dates) date range:

  • Most Recent (Relative): Allows you to define a relative date range. The system uses the present as a starting point and looks back according to the value that you have defined. For example, if you define select 14 days, the date range displays the run history job details for the past 14 days, always counting from the present back.

  • Select Dates (Absolute): Allows you to define an absolute date range. You can define a specific date and time range for which you want to display the run history job details.

Note:

You can add multiple attributes to your filter; they are put together as AND conditions, which means all conditions must be true. You can also add more than one filter parameter for each attribute. These values are put together as OR conditions, which means any criteria can be true.

Adding Attributes and Filter Parameters

To add filter attributes and parameters do the following:

  1. At the top left of the relevant page, click the filter icon to display all filter attributes available for that page.

  2. Select a filter attribute.

A list of filter parameters relevant to the attribute opens. Which options are available depends on the attribute you have selected. Some require you to select a checkbox, select a date range, or use the dropdown menu to select and define a filter parameter.

To define a date range, do one of the following:

    • Click Most Recent (Relative), select one of the options available and click Apply.

    • Click Select Dates (Absolute), click the calendar icon to define the relevant date and time range, and click OK and then Apply.

  3. Once you have defined the filter parameter, click Add.

The attribute and its definition is displayed next to the filter icon.

  4. To add more attributes, repeat steps one through three.

The additional attributes are displayed next to the first attribute. Only the first two attributes are displayed by default. If you have more than two, a +<N> is displayed indicating the number of attributes that are currently hidden. To display them, click the +<N>. To hide them again, click Hide.

  5. To add further filter parameters to one of the attributes, click the attribute to open it.

A window opens in which you define more parameters. If the parameter requires you to define text or a specific value, you have to add a second (third, and so on) parameter. To do so, click the + icon on the top right corner of the window. The parameters are listed one after the other and are put together as OR options.

  6. To remove one of the filter parameters either deselect the checkbox or click the trashcan icon, depending on what is available.

  7. When you are done adding and defining parameters, click Apply.

  8. To remove a filter attribute, click the X next to it.

The filter definition is saved for each user. That means that your filter selection is also available if you log out and log in again.
