This list displays the Nodes known to the Univiewer Management Server and their status. The Management Server that UVC is connected to appears at the top of the list by default.
For advanced architecture:
If UVC is connected to the UVMS master, the list contains a Master Management Server, the subordinate Management Servers, the external Management Servers (if they exist) and their DUAS V6 nodes.
If UVC is connected to a subordinate UVMS, the list contains the master UVMS, the local UVMS and external Management Servers (other Subordinate UVMS are displayed as external UVMS of the current local UVMS).
Each UniJob Node is registered in this list by the installation procedure (a UniJob Node can only be connected to Management Server). UniJob Nodes, however, can be manually deleted. To re-declare a UniJob Node that has been deleted, re-run the installation procedure or run the registration command, refer to the UniJob Administration Guide.
Reporter, Publisher and Dollar Universe v5 Nodes must be declared manually.
After declaring a DUAS v5 node in UVMS, to be able to access the node in UVC, the UVMS administrator (admin by default) must be added to the DUAS v5 Users table. For example, logged as the company administrator, you can use the following command: $UXEXE/uxadd user user=admin prof=PROFADM code=555
The installation procedure saves each Dollar Universe V6 node in the list of the UVMS it is registered to. It is possible to manually delete the Nodes. To declare them again, re-launch the installation procedure or use the save command, refer to the Dollar Universe Installation Guide.
Dollar Universe Nodes may be declared for different Dollar Universe Companies. Only Nodes belonging to the same Company can be grouped together in the same Node View, however different Companies can be monitored from the same Univiewer console. By default, Univiewer does not retrieve the status of Dollar Universe Nodes. A Management Server node setting can change that. Refer to the section "UVMS - Optional Services".
The user will only see the Nodes they have access to (the admin user sees all Nodes). To see Node status, the user’s role must have the appropriate rights.
The nodes list displays all the nodes known to the Management Server that the Univiewer Console is connected to. It displays the following columns:
Type
UniJob, Dollar Universe Dollar Universe 6, Publisher, Reporter, SAP Manager (DUAS v5), EJB Manager (DUAS V5), Oracle Applications Manager (DUAS V5), z/OS Manager, Management Server, External Management Server, Master Management Server, Subordinate Management Server.
The Management Server node is the one UVC is connected to. It can be alone, master or subordinate. The column Advanced Status provides this information.
Company / Area
Only displayed for Dollar Universe (V5) and Dollar Universe 6 nodes.
Node
Is the node name seen from client applications (Univiewer Console or another node in the environment).
Status
Represents the state of the connection between the Univiewer Console and the Node. This status depends on reception signal (ping), IO server presence, and node network connection. It may represent different values:
UniJob Node status relies on the presence of the Alert Manager Service, which is absent by default. If the Alert Manager is not started, UniJob Nodes will systematically be displayed with an “Unknown” status. This in no way impacts functionality.
Dollar Universe Node status collection can be turned on by the “Get status for Dollar Universe Nodes” setting (refer to section: UVMS - Optional Services).
If very large numbers of Dollar Universe Nodes are concerned, this setting should be turned off.
If the server that is hosting a Dollar Universe node changes its IP address, UVMS will display the node status as “not connected”. To resolve the hostname with the new IP address, UVMS must be restarted.
Advanced status
(Only for advanced architecture) Provides additional information such as “register status”, “last synchronization time”, “local UVMS role” etc.
If UVC is connected to "Master Management Server", the user can manage the security and alerting rules. The list displays all the subordinate nodes and UVMS they are registered to, but the user cannot modify nodes that are linked to subordinates.
If UVC is connected to "Subordinate Management Server", the user can only display the security and alerting rules (that are only managed by the Master Management Server with this architecture). If the current Subordinate Management Server shares its nodes with the master, the list displays all the nodes associated to the master and the subordinates that share their nodes, but the user cannot modify a node that is not directly associated.
Management Server
Displays the UVMS the node is registered to. This information is useful for when the implementation of advanced architecture which can have 2 UVMS levels: the master and the subordinates and all the associated nodes in the same list. This column specifies which UVMS the node (Dollar Universe V6) is linked to.
Upgrade status
Represents state of the Dollar Universe V5 to V6 upgrade. This status only applies to Dollar Universe V5.6.0 nodes that are being upgraded to V6. (Refer to the Dollar Universe Upgrade Guide).
Information
Displays the additional information on the node, for example the license validity...
Operating system
The operating system of the target Node
Version
The software version
SSL
Whether SSL is enabled or not
Certificate Validity Date
The certificate’s validity date
Hostname
The node host name
Label
The node description
Tags
The tags mapped to the node. Refer to section Node Tags.
Information Window
The Nodes tab in the Information window displays the UVMS Node status (see Columns).
The Stats tab displays statistics on the Nodes in the list:
The Audit tab displays the last action performed on the Nodes list.
Toolbar
New, Display, Update
Opens a Node declaration window. Refer to section: Node Details. Some fields are not modifiable depending on the action selected. The UVMS Node cannot be modified.
This action deletes the node declaration in UVMS but does not delete the product instance.
Deleting a subordinate UVMS does not delete the corresponding security but only unregisters the subordinate from the master.
Duplicate
Only valid for duplicating Dollar Universe Nodes.
Tags
A tag is a free string attached to the Node. It is used to select Nodes with the Filters feature. Select Add Tags or Remove Tags. Refer to section: "Node Tags".
Lets you define the configuration settings for the selected Node.
Upgrade
Only valid for Dollar Universe V5 nodes being upgraded to V6. Refer to the Dollar Universe Upgrade Guide:
View permissions
For nodes that support it, this document displays one or two lists according to the selected Node filtered by login or by System user, refer to section "View Permissions".
Trace > Product Log
Opens the Product Log file in a Univiewer document. By default, this file is named:
Trace > Generate UxTrace
Enter a file name and path to store the uxtrace results. This action may take some time, so a progress bar is displayed. When the action is complete, the zip file is available in the specified directory. This tool is used for debugging only on Dollar Access demand.
Trace > Maintenance log
Opens the maintenance log of a Dollar Universe V6 Node that was previously selected in a Univiewer document. The default file name is maintenance.log and is located in the log directory. It contains a log of the last Dollar Universe Node update.
Trace > Manager for Java log
Opens the Manager for Java log file if enabled.
Tools > Mass Declaration of Dollar Universe Nodes
Click this item to declare Dollar Universe Nodes.
Tools > Check Windows User Services
Accessible on the UVMS node, opens the audit tool for Windows User Services related to the submission accounts.
Server Engine List
Select this option to display the list of server engines and processes.
